Atsuko Mu Yuma

Born in Japan Yuma is a self-taught visual artist (performer, craft maker) who now resides in New York. Discovering the power of space, trying to find out where we came from where we are going. Yuma says "Our body dies but life (spirit) is eternal" She is a natural artist who does not have to strain to achieve perfection but surrenders herself to her art through the spontaneous creation of images. The mystery of life and force of love that interconnects to all beings.

About the Exhibit

Today, we are living in a Global Age, a progressive time for humanity as a whole as we shed our arbitrary differences. However, our vast mutual efforts have also repercussions for the planet in the eradication of our environment and a subsequent loss of awareness of the beauty of the natural world.

Still my Japanese origin is very important to me and through my imagination and creative endeavors, I inevitably reflect my culture. My paintings are based on the mystery of life, death and love and I feel that the past, the present and the future are like a circle all connecting as one.

All of my lifetime efforts, vision and passion in the making of my work are based on that concept.
