Celia Sporer, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Queensborough Community College, CUNY, and a longtime Emergency Medical Services professional. She began her EMS career in August 2001, just weeks before the September 11 attacks, and has remained deeply connected to the EMS community for more than 25 years through clinical service, education, research, and professional involvement. Her scholarship includes a particular focus on the experiences, health, and well-being of EMS professionals.
