Charles “Chuck” Martin began to know Algiers in 2009 during the Pan African Cultural Festival, and he visited again in 2010. His new friends revealed to him an intricate city of vistas, of artisans, and of splendid nights. Algiers kindled new imagery but also reminded him of home and other favorite sites. Because of Algiers documents Martin’s travels in a 128-page lavishly illustrated publication with text written in English and translated into Arabic and French.
