Hsinyi (b.1979) is a Taiwan-born artist living in New York City. Hsinyi Liu’s work is inspired by the social phenomena in my environment. They strive to create pieces that reflect the world around me and capture the intricacies of society through their art. Specifically, Liu is fascinated by the traditional role’s women are expected to play and society’s pressures upon them.
Through their art, they explore women’s struggles in finding balance and navigating the conflicts and suppression that can arise within families. Additionally, Liu is aware of the persistent racial issues in our society after the pandemic happened and incorporates this theme into their work as ongoing exploration and commentary. Hsinyi Liu’s aim is to use their art to shed light on these critical issues and inspire meaningful conversations about the complexities of the human experience.
