Ricardo Ostalé

Ricardo Ostalé was born in Zaragoza, Spain, into a family with a great tradition in the world of art, antiques, and journalism since the early 20th century. His entire professional career has developed in the artistic field where he has organized dozens of exhibitions and collaborations, both in the private and institutional sectors. He is considered a specialist in the study of antique works, their cataloging process, and the direction of their restoration and conservation. He is a member of the Federación Española de Anticuarios and the C.I.N.O.A. (Confédération Internationale des Négociants en Oeuvres d’Art). As an art dealer, he has had clients including some important museums and public institutions, banks, major galleries, and antique dealers, as well as numerous private collections.

In 1997, he coordinated the exhibition “Siglo XVIII, El Arte De Una Época” in Vitoria, Spain. From November 2004 to January 2005, he was the coordinating commissioner of the exhibition “Aragón Gráfica 14” at the Museo del Grabado Español Contemporáneo in Marbella, Málaga. This exhibition presented graphic works by fourteen contemporary Aragonese artists.

Ricardo Ostalé designed and directed the “Centro de Arte Castillo de Sádaba”. In one of the most spectacular medieval castles in Spain, he programmed and curated 16 exhibitions of contemporary sculptors in its Patio de Armas, with great public and critical success, becoming an artistic and cultural reference for the community.

In 2011, he was curator and coordinator of the exhibition “Colores De África” at the Museo Centro de Historias de Zaragoza.

In 2023, he acted as technical commissioner in the exhibition “European Drawings: The Creative Interpretation And Techniques,” with the curatorship of Professor Dr. Frédéric Jimeno from the Sorbonne University, and in 2024, he is the curator together with the honorary conservator of the Picasso Museum in Barcelona, of the exhibition “Picasso, La Metamorfosis Della Figura” at the MUDEC in Milan.
