QCC Art Gallery maintains a research library as a separately housed division of the college’s Schmeller Library. Serving as a fertile ground for intellectual stimulation and a study center for the collection, it specializes in African art, Pre-Columbian art and the history of photography.
As a secondary component to the College Library, the Gallery’s own research library serves as fertile ground for intellectual stimulation, while documenting the growth and development of its Permanent Collection. The holdings contain a significant collection of African research material and an interactive library providing access to works of art and the voices of their creators, as well as relevant commentaries from critics and historians.
The Art Gallery Library’s holdings are listed on the online catalogue of the CUNY library system and in worldcat.org, the largest online access to libraries internationally.
